Junior Spartans Program (PS – 4th Grade)

Our Savior Lutheran School is excited to announce that we will begin our Junior Spartan Athletic Program starting with registration on January 3rd – January 6th 2012 for flag football and cheerleading. We will join an existing program at Northside Christian School along with Grace Lutheran School who just started as well. We are excited to provide an opportunity to learn various sports within a Christian environment for all to enjoy, no matter gender or skill level.

Here is what to expect:

Seasons

6 weeks grade levels

Games – @ Northside Christian School

Saturdays – one hour in the morning (PS3-K 9-10 AM / 1st-4th grade 10-11 AM )
No score is kept (purpose – to learn the game and enjoy the game for the activity and learning experience it is.)
Everyone plays equal time as possible (coaches will do their best)
Coaches referee while instructing throughout the games. (more than one coach per team if possible)

Practices

One day a week (1st -4th grade Tuesdays / PS3-K Wednesdays)
After school, pending on the coach, (preferably 3:30-4:30) at Bear Creek on the corner of 1st N. and 60th st. Parents transport the players or find a ride from a trusted friend/family member to and from practice (must be on the school pickup list). The school does not have the means to transport.
Important to attend – playing time may be affected if too many practices are missed (not fair to those who show up every practice)

Cost

$60 – Need a new jersey
$50 – If you have a Jersey that still fits from the previous season

Signups and Registration will be available January 3rd-6th. The first week of practice and games will be the week of January 17th. Talk it up with your friends and get signed up. Without coaches our kids won’t be able to play, so please consider volunteering 2 hours/2 days a wk/6 weeks. Coach’s kids will only pay the $25 uniform fee. Coaches will need a background check (local takes less than a week and is free). Coaches meeting will take place before the season starts to square everything away.
